As Germany's oldest health insurance company, DAK-Gesundheit has a long tradition in health care and is committed to sustainable action to protect both the environment and the health of its members. However, the basis for achieving climate neutrality is not only the right measures, but also the precise measurement of emissions as a first step.
To achieve this goal, the company needed to implement structured processes and technologies to track and reduce carbon emissions. Existing systems were fragmented and data collection was largely manual. In addition, there was a lack of a central data platform and clear responsibilities for recording the corporate carbon footprint (CCF). As a result, DAK-Gesundheit decided to bring in strategic partners to integrate methodological and technical expertise and develop a comprehensive, automated emissions management solution.
